Caroline “Carrie” Emily Lutz 10/02/1946-10/19/2017 Born in Yonkers, NY, Carrie grew up in Eastchester and graduated from Eastchester High School and then Parson’s College. Carrie embodied kindness, gentleness and generosity. Always armed with a radiant smile and a ready hug, she brought sunshine, warmth and laughter to those around her, humans and dogs alike. When with her family, she wore a camera and camcorder as a part of her wardrobe. While often teased about her constant photographic companions and her desire to capture seemingly every moment in “film”, Carrie truly was the family photographer. She created a calendar every year with pictures of the various members on each page and gave each family a copy as part of her Christmas gift. In addition to creating a family photo calendar every year, Carrie always sent personalized cards for special occasions. She always signed her name with her furry babies’ names. While a fan of old movies, Dunkin Donuts decaf and NCIS, Carrie was not always predictable. She enjoyed challenges and opportunities for growth. She earned her black belt prior to leaving Boston and fulfilled her dream of swimming with the dolphins on her 70th birthday. As a champion for women’s rights and causes, she served an important role in the Jaycee Women and was a charter member of United States Women of Today. Her sister, Barbara Lutz Brim, of Acworth, Georgia, her brother, Eugene Lutz and his wife Mary Ann of Wilton, Connecticut, seven nieces and nephews and fifteen grand nieces and nephews and her furry babies, Mia and Miss D, deeply mourn Carrie’s unexpected departure. Carrie also leaves childhood friends as well as friends from the Players in Sarasota, Best Friends Animal Society, Satchel’s Last Resort, Pet Therapy and many others from her beloved community of friends. The world will not be quite as bright without dear Carrie; however, without a doubt, her friends and family have been changed for the better just knowing her. A memorial service honoring Carrie will be held Saturday, November 25 at 11 a.m. at the Players Centre for Performing Arts, 838 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Best Friends Animal Society, Beneva Animal Hospital, Satchel’s Last Resort and the Players Centre for Performing Arts in Carrie’s honor.
