Edgar was born in Jacksonville but moved shortly after to West Palm Beach and began his love of fishing and the outdoors at a young age. He was a proud Palm Beach High School graduate and completed his education at the University of Florida, studying Aerospace Engineering. He was a dedicated engineer at Pratt and Whitney for over 30 years.
Edgar leaves behind his loving wife of 45 years, Nancy; his son, Casey (Mary) and daughter, Kari (Clayton); his grandchildren, Lillian, Harper, Caroline, and Sullivan; and his brother, Bibb (Dixie), niece Lissa Clear (Justin) and nephews Bibb Jr and Brady (Amanda). He is preceded in death by his mother, Christine and father Edgar Lee II.
His friends and family will long remember his constant positive spirit, unselfish devotion to his family, his unending curiosity of how things worked, and his love of all things outdoors. He enjoyed creating a garden, working on the intricacies of clocks and watches, pursuing the “big one” by fishing as often as possible and cheering Florida Gator football enthusiastically. Times spent pursuing those interest with family only added to his joy.
A celebration of Edgar’s life will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium in Sarasota, Fl., which supports marine animal rescue and environmental conservation.
