Gregory Ray Sollenberger

Gregory Ray Sollenberger, 64 of Sarasota, FL passed away at home November 23, 2015. Greg was born October 16, 1951 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Chester and Mildred Sollenberger. Greg was the Founder of Sollenberger Carpentry since 1977. He was an avid gardener, and enjoyed woodworking as a Master Carpenter as well as mentoring many young aspiring carpenters. Greg had a strong work ethic which he modeled for others. Greg enjoyed boating, fishing and the companionship of his dogs. Greg is survived by his wife Nancy Kurtz Sollenberger of 43 years, sons: Chad Eric (Brielle) and Michael Gregory Sollenberger, and grandson Flint Sollenberger; step mother Rachel Sollenberger of Manheim, PA; brother Jeffery (Toni) Sollenberger of Hagerstown, PA; Sister in law: Mary Elizabeth Kurtz of Sarasota, FL. Brother in laws: Sam Kurtz (Treva) of Sarasota, FL; Eldon (Sharri) Harrisonburg, VA. Nieces: Sara Kurtz, Tanya Kurtz Lehman and son Asher, Maria Jewell (Ryan), Angela Sherk (Lucas and son Camden), Grace Sollenberger Card (Scott children: Anderson, Caroline) Nephews: Kelly Kurtz (Diana and daughter Emily) Ben Kurtz (Alyssa and children: Mateo, Leo, Tilia), Peter Kurtz (Emily and children: Liam, Webb, Ada), Patrick Sollenberger; And his dog Patches. Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 4:00 P.M. Saturday, Nov. 28 at Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home, 7454 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34231. A memorial services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, Nov. 29th at Bahia Vista Mennonite Church, 4041 Bahia Vista Street, Sarasota, FL 34232.
