
Helen Louise Davis, 90, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Fairway Pines in Sebring, FL. She was born in Johnstown, PA on Aug. 7, 1924 as the second child of George and Grace Schoenwalder. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Karl Dean Davis and their oldest son, Ronald Dean Davis as well as her granddaughter, Dianne Alice Nemitz and all four of her siblings. She is survived by four sons and their wives, George and Wanda Davis, Casper, WY, Denny and Deb Davis, Sebring, FL, Dave and Holly Davis, Davie, FL and Danny & Sue Davis, Davie, FL., and by the wife of their oldest son, Betty Ann Stone, Charlotte, N.C. Helen was a loving grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren and has many nieces and nephews. Her Lord and her family were her life. She and Dean enjoyed extending their love to numerous boys as “Mom & Pop” (house parents) at Sheridan House for Boys after their own sons were grown. She moved with her family in 1963 from Hamburg, NY to Miami, FL and since then has been a resident of Sarasota, Lake Wales, Davie and Sebring, Florida. She also lived in Georgia from 2006 to 2013. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church of Sarasota for over 20 years and was a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ seeking to share His love with others throughout her adult life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in her honor be made to Sheridan House Family Ministries, 1700 South Flamingo Rd., Davie, FL 33325. (www.sheridanhouse.org) Visitation will be at Grace Baptist Church, 8000 Bee Ridge Rd., Sarasota, FL on Monday, May 4 at 11 a.m. Funeral will follow at the church at 12 noon. Burial will be in the Florida National Cemetery near Bushnell, FL
