Mary Mimi Catherine Morrison

Mary Catherine Hoover Morrison, 87, of Sarasota, FL went home to The Lord on Oct. 22, 2015.She was born in Alumbaugh, KY on March 7, 1928 to the late James B. Hoover and Ethel Mae Mays.She was married to Ralph Morrison for 42 years and she was the widow of Homer Pennington to whom she was married for 21 years. Cathy worked as an executive secretary for GE, Daytex and Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. She moved to Florida in 1973 where she worked for several local businesses before beginning her own secretarial service, which she had for many years. She was an active member of Eastern Star in Dayton, OH and Covenant Life Church here in Sarasota, FL until her illness. For many years after her move to Florida her passion was teaching Sunday School for children. She loved her family above all else except The Lord. Her love and support will be missed by all who knew and loved her. "Mimi" will be in our hearts forever. She is survived by her children Sherry Pennington (Rex) Hosfeld and Richard W. (Jeannine) Pennington, grandchildren Catherine Hosfeld (Brad) Buchmueller, Melissa Hosfeld (Chris) Smith, Laura Hosfeld (Daren) Watson and 6 great grand children and numerous nieces and nephews. Cathy is also survived by her siblings James Hoover, Herman (Norma) Hoover, Phyllis Rowe and Bradley (Linda) Hoover. She was predeceased by her siblings Lovell Dafnos, Laban Hoover, Earl Hoover, Betty Louise Hoover and Sherman Hoover. A private service will be held at the National Cemetery.
