RUTH LILLY GOTTLIEB, age 93 of Venice, Florida slipped away peacefully on October 13, 2015. Born August 5, 1922 in Zurich, Switzerland to Adolf Gottlieb and Eliese Bloch, Ruth was a home economist in Heiden before immigrating to the United States where she was a textile restoration specialist at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Ruth retired from the Met and moved to Venice with her beloved teacher, Vladzia Mashke, a concert pianist. Ruth was a resident of Village on the Isle for twenty years and was an accomplished pianist who shared her talent and love of music with her fellow friends and residents. Ruth was preceded in death by her sister, MaryAnn and her parents. Ruth leaves a great many friends and loved ones in the US and a few relatives in Switzerland. A memorial service will be held at Village on the Isle on November 3, 2015 at 3:15 p.m. in the Renaissance Room I at Mark Manor and light refreshments will be served.
