Sharon Yvonne Gabriel, 80, of Sarasota, Florida, peacefully entered the arms of Jesus on May 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bloomington, Illinois, on August 4, 1944, Sharon was the cherished daughter of Betty (Reiner) and George (Frank) Warren. She was a proud graduate of Champaign High School, where she was known for her kind heart and loving nature.
On January 15, 1988, Sharon married the love of her life, Timothy Gabriel. Together, they shared a beautiful life centered on faith, love and devotion to family. A life rich with joy, laughter, and a lifetime of cherished memories.
Sharon worked at Cascade Realty and JM Stewart Signs, but her greatest calling was as a devoted wife and mother. She was also a passionate 4-H leader, fondly known by many as the "Radish Lady." She inspired generations of children through her mentorship in agriculture, particularly in preparing and grooming cattle, always offering guidance, encouragement, and a helping hand. In addition to this, she took great pride in organizing numerous 4-H events and outings - creating meaningful connections and memories that will be treasured for years to come. Her generous heart and vibrant personality extended far beyond the farm. She found joy in cooking, knitting, sewing, and actively participating in her church community. She had a remarkable ability to bring people together, and her home was a place of warmth, joy, and togetherness — a true haven for family and friends alike.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Betty and George (Frank) Warren, as well as her beloved sisters, Diane Conerty and Marsha Raney, and her brother, Richard Warren. Remaining to cherish Sharon's memory are her devoted husband, Timothy Gabriel; her daughters, Kamille Long, Christina Gabriel and Savannah Gabriel-Mathias; her son-in-law, Spencer Mathias; her granddaughter, Sara Gabriel; and her grandson, Davis Foster. She is also survived by her brother, Michael (Dorothy) Warren, her sister-in-law, Debbie Warren; her brothers-in-law, Buddy Raney and Tom Conerty; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
As we remember Sharon, we celebrate a life beautifully lived — one marked by her gold-hearted spirit, deep compassion, and steadfast love for her family, friends, and her Savior, Jesus. Though she will be deeply missed, we find comfort in knowing she is now in His presence, and her legacy of love and faith will live on in all who knew her.
