We are sad to announce the sudden passing of Alan Charles Rowse. He is survived by his partner Melissa, his children Tabitha, Hanna, and Aidan, his mother Diana, his siblings Sandra (Henry), Wendy (Richard), Lynda, Beverley (Colin), Wayne (Sheri), and Michelle, and his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father, Donald.
Alan was born in Plymouth, England and moved to Canada in 1965 with his family. When he was young he enjoyed sports, especially playing hockey, and had a hunger for knowledge that continued throughout his life. He was a very adventurous child, always exploring and creating memorable experiences that he recounted often throughout his life. Alan was the middle of 7 children and was very protective of his siblings. He had a strong and unique bond with each member of his family.
As an adult, Alan's greatest joy in life was being a dad. The day each one of his children were born, the love shone out of him so brightly. He was always so proud to show whatever clever or funny thing they had learned. He made a point to always create fun memories for his children, as well as his nieces and nephews. He loved taking his kids out camping and took them out on new adventures and activities often. He also passed on his deep love for music to them.
Alan loved to make people smile. He had a great sense of humour, and an infectious laugh. He had a big and generous heart. Always eager to help people out in any way he could. He always made an effort to make sure everyone around him felt included and welcome.
He worked hard to build his own painting and drywalling business that he ran for many years. Alan was good at teaching himself how to do absolutely anything he set out to learn. He would take things apart and put them back together just to see how they worked and could fix just about anything. He also had a strong love for cars and taught himself everything he knew about them. He loved to stay busy and was always planning his next project.
In 2008, Alan met his life partner and best friend, Melissa. They had a great love for one another and made many beautiful memories together over the years. Their happy place was out at Redberry Lake, where he and Melissa created a welcoming environment for friends and family to come together. Through their relationship, Alan gained another loving family. He cherished his time spent with his nieces and nephews and anticipated his late-night conversations with Melissa's father.
Our beloved father, life partner, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was loved by many and had a positive impact on those around him. Our memories made with him will be cherished for a lifetime. We loved Alan with all our hearts, and we will forever miss him.
In lieu of flowers we ask for people to donate to their charity of choice in Alan’s memory. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Derryl Hildebrandt.
