It is with saddened hearts that the family of Albert Clifford Hansen “Cliff” announce the sudden passing of our dad on October 31, 2024. He is survived by his two sons Robert Hansen, Michael Hansen (Debbie Siermachesky), his daughter Jean (Rafal) Drozdowski and grand-daughter Paige Hansen; his sisters Linda (Peter) Rosenberg, Mary-Lou (Harvey) Niebrugge, and Joanne (Donald) Angelstad; his bother-in-law Morris Yuzik and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Clifford is predeceased by his wife, Constance Moeller “Connie”, his father Walter Hansen, his stepfather and mother Michael and Juliana Zerff, sister and brother-in-law Violet and Robert Barns, sister and brother-in-law Yvonne and John Badiou, sister Betty-Ann Yuzik, and brother Roger Zerff.
Clifford was born on August 11, 1937, in Humboldt Saskatchewan. He grew up in St Brieux and Humboldt graduating from the Humboldt Collegiate Institute. Cliff was introduced to Constance Moeller through his brother. He married Constance the love of his life in 1964. They raised their two sons and a daughter in Saskatoon. He chose a career with SaskPower living and working in the field in Humboldt and Regina until he secured a position in the SaskPower plant in Saskatoon and retired in 1996 after 36 years.
Clifford was a strong-willed man, steadfast in his Christian faith. He deeply loved his wife and was devoted to her and the family. Cliff was frugal, had a quiet nature, and a whimsical sense of humor. He was a minimalist at heart, a deep thinker and handyman. He had a strong kindred friendship with his stepfather whom he always called “pa”. He learned from his dad that most things can be fixed before you buy new. Cliff loved the outdoors, especially boating and fishing with his stepdad, his sons and wife. They looked forward to weekends at Wakaw Lake visiting with his sisters who both had cabins at the lake. His favourite was the campfire stories and roasted hotdogs. Cliff followed the Sask Roughriders and enjoyed watching football and hockey. He was a guiding support to his family and helped in any way he could. Cliff treasured the annual lunch outings at the Berry Barn, a special place for him and his family. He was fortunate to have his sons living close by. They became his confident, friend, and caregiver and assisted with homecare supports so Cliff could live independently in his condo. He cherished the regular visits he had with his daughter and son-in-law when they came from Calgary. Cliff had been struggling with chronic health issues and deteriorating health over the years. He will fondly be remembered and deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at St Augustine Cemetery in Humboldt. A luncheon will follow at Harvey/Marylou Niebrugge’s home. Arrangements are in care of Derryl Hildebrandt.
