Albert Koenderink

January 10, 1933 – March 18, 2017

Albert passed away quietly in his sleep.  He is survived by his loving wife Rita, son Ron (Karen), daughter Sharon (Shane), grandchildren Alyssa,  Matthew, and Katelyn, sister Hilda, brother Jerry (Myrla), and numerous nieces and nephews.  Albert was born in the Netherlands and immigrated to Canada in 1955.  Most of his working career was at CFQC, first as radio engineer, then as chief radio engineer and then he took on the additional duties of managing the information services group.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, piloting small aircraft, and amateur radio. He was thrilled to have a ride along with the RCAF Snowbirds. He liked to tinker and could fix almost anything. He was a lifelong learner; it was common to see him reading technical books. In recent years, he and Rita loved spending the winters in their RV in Pahrump, NV.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.  At his request there will be no funeral or memorial service.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
