Andrew Joseph Boser

June 16, 1931 - May 26, 2014

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew at Royal University Hospital with his beloved family at his side. He is dearly loved and remembered by his wife, Bernie (Volk); son, Bob Boser (Louise Sellinger); daughter, Shelly (Lee Blanchette); grandchildren, Quinn Boser (Josh), Renee (Mike Rousseau), Kiley (Nicole) Blanchette, Kimberley Blanchette (Tyrell); great grandchildren, Hunter, Hudson, Kinsley and Connor; four sisters and three brothers: Jack (Jean) Boser, Carol (Charles) Zunti, Bernard (Jeannette) Boser, Pius (Beatrice) Boser, Mary (Lloyd) Heck, Phyllis Schafer and Linda (Ron) Merkel; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Clara Boser; sister, Helen (Joe) Keller; brothers-in-law, Ron Schafer and Henry Ostrowsky. Andrew was born and raised in Reward, SK. He was the eldest in a family of nine. He acquired his hairline from his mother's side and his love of farming from his father. On June 16, 1953 he married Bernadette Volk and farmed the Volk homestead in Denzil. He worked in the oil patch in Southern Saskatchewan through the winters. They were blessed with two children and raised them in Denzil, later relocating to Kelowna in 1963. In 1968 the family moved back to Denzil and they continued to farm until 1995. They moved to Saskatoon to Silverwood Heights to make their home and yard their paradise. They were dedicated members of St. Anne's Parish. They travelled to Mexico, Hawaii, England, Hong Kong, Alaska and the Caribbean. Andrew was devoted to his family, farming and faith and strove for perfection in everything he did. The Vigil for Andrew will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 29th and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30th with both services to be held at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church (217 Lenore Dr). Rite of Committal will follow at the Woodlawn Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Pro-Life Alliance for Life Saskatoon.
