Anita Brossart

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our cherished mother and grandmother, Anita Anna Mary Brossart, who left us on Friday, July 21, 2023 at the age of 90. Born in 1933, Anita grew up in Allan, Saskatchewan. Left to mourn are her sons Ron, Ernie (Brenda) Brossart; daughters-in-law Nadia and Patricia Brossart; grandchildren Ryan (Amber), Travis (Kaley), Stacey, Steven (Teresa), Celine, Marc (Tamarae), Jordan (Nadine) and Luke. Anita also had several great grandchildren.

Anita is survived by her sister Marlene Thompson (Bev); sisters-in-law June Kary (Eugene); Rose Kary (Edward) and brother-in-law Tony Schnurr, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Anita was predeceased by her parents Sigesmund and Magdalena Kary (Deibert); husband Theodore (married October 20, 1953); sons John (2006) and Robert (2004), Arnold and Carol Brossart, Leona Lockert, Wendel Lockert, Jack Schaaf, Magdalena Schnurr, Mike and Anna Marie Welder, Henry and Betty Brossart and Andrew and Marlene Dengler.

Anita spent countless hours tending to her flowers, vegetable garden and yard both in town and on the farm. This never prevented her from having a hot meal ready for her family or anyone who happened to drop by for a visit. Anita was always genuinely interested in what her children and grandchildren were doing. She looked forward to visits from the children, friends and neighbors; always having their favorite dishes prepared. Some of these favorites included jam jams, kuchen, and meticulously sculptured legendary buns. Anita will be remembered through her paintings that hang in her children and grandchildren’s homes.

Anita moved to Circle Drive Special Care home in the fall of 2019. The family is appreciative of the wonderful care she received from the staff during her stay. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations may be made to Circle Drive Special Care Home (3055 Preston Avenue South Saskatoon, Saskatchewan S7T 1C4).

Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced at a later date.
