It is with sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of our Mom, Annette Dinelle. mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Mom passed away peacefully with her children by her side at Columbian Village at the age of 90 on December 15, 2025.
Left to cherish all great memories are her children: Marty Dinelle, Pauline Sawyer, Celeste (Roger) Labrecque, Jocelyn (Kelly) Ginter and Jeanine Dinelle; grandchildren: Brittany (Derek), Rachelle (Justin), Alison and David; great-grandchildren: Reece, Norah, Quinn and Palmer; and her sisters: Alma, Rosalie, Joanne (Wes) and Anne (Rodney).
Mom was the eldest of 8 children, born on May 14, 1935, to Aime and Anne Brochu on the family farm at Colonsay, SK.
Mom was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Daniel (2023).
Mom and Dad farmed in the St. Denis area until 1988, however moved to Saskatoon in 1969 with their young family.
After raising her children, Mom went on to receive her Teaching Certificate in 1971 and taught Adult Basic Education at SIAST for 20 years.
Mom found joy in cooking and baking for her family. She faithfully continued the Christmas tradition passed down from her Mom of making Tourtiere meat pie, which her daughters continue to
do.
Mom was crafty. She loved sewing (many personalized ongoing gifts for her children and grandchildren), needle point, knitting, reading, playing the piano, playing tons of cards and visiting with family and friends. Mom was a huge fan of curling, following it diligently on TV and was right up to speed with all the stats and teams.
If you knew here well, you’d know that Mom’s keen attention to detail and recording of facts and information made her a great source of knowledge. If you wanted to know how much Mom and Dad’s power bill was in 1974, or how many bushels per acre in any given year, she could refer to her paper spreadsheet, LOL.
Mom and Dad enjoyed several years of traveling in Hawaii, cruising in the Caribbean and winters in Mesquite, Nevada.
Mom always had a love for music and kept a close eye on the TV listings for musical specials. Some of her favorite artists included Leonard Cohen, The Tenors, II Volo and Elvis Presley.
After Dad passed, Mom spent her last year at Columbian Village where she met and built new friendships.
Respecting Mom’s request, there will be no funeral service.
