Bernice Elizabeth Kostiuk

“To know her, was to love her…” The wonderful matriarch of our family, Bernice Elizabeth “Bunny” Kostiuk, passed away at home on November 8, 2011 at the age of 84 years. Bunny is greatly missed and loved by her son Rick Kostiuk (Elaine Cechanowicz); daughter Dyanne Bohrson (Gordon); grandchildren Rick Kostiuk (Jennifer Harby); Andrew Kostiuk (fiancée Megan Dutton); Jessica Bohrson; Russell Bohrson and great-granddaughter Alexis Bohrson, as well as many close family and friends.

Bunny was predeceased by Bill, her loving husband of 52 years; parents Mary and John Lukasiewicz; and her brother Joe Lukas. Bunny was born in Winnipeg where she grew up with many relatives and friends. She worked at The Bay as a manager of the hat department before she and Bill and their young family moved to Saskatoon in 1955. Bunny was actively involved in women’s bowling and mixed leagues including curling and golfing with Bill. She was very artistic, an excellent seamstress and loved spending time in her beautiful garden. She was a great chef, hosting many dinners for family and friends over the years. Bunny was one of a kind, encouraging and generous with a strong will and determination.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 13th at 11:00 AM at Acadia-McKague’s Funeral Centre, 915-Acadia Drive, Saskatoon SK. Acadia-McKague’s Funeral Centre is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations will be gratefully accepted by The MS Society of Canada.
