Brian Dale

                               August 19th, 1940 - November 9th, 2018

Brian passed away suddenly but peacefully at home in Swift Current, SK. He is dearly loved by his wife of 57 years, Dolores, son Dean (Janis) Dale and grandsons Jared and Aaron, son Philip (Shanna) Dale and grandchildren Jayden, Janelle, and Jayce, his brother Ivan (Angie) Dale of Humboldt and their six children and family; brother-in-law Dwayne Pidperyhora, and his three children and family; sisters-in-law Beverly (Philip) Broten and her two sons and family; Marie (Bill) Cummins and their three sons and family. He was predeceased by his parents Philip Dale and Catherine (Engele); his sister Louise (Tom) Brown; his parents-in-law Bill and Margaret Pidperyhora. Brian married the love of his life Dolores Pidperyhora on July 1st, 1961. He followed a path in groceries and one day Brian and Dolores became owners of a store in Wynyard. When they sold the store he tried his luck at selling cars in Wynyard. His son Philip followed in his dad’s footsteps and purchased a grocery store in Watrous, the temptation was too great and he started work as the produce manager.  Semi retirement and the birth of his first grandson brought him to Swift Current after the store was sold. Retirement never agreed with Brian so he helped his son Philip and family with their seed testing lab until the day he passed. Brian’s humour and practical jokes have been tattooed in all who met him; those who have had the chance for that to happen are those who will remember him the most. The Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 15th at St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church in the Holar District (South of Elfros, SK). Rev. Father Basil Malowany as the Celebrant. The Interment will follow at the St. Demetrius Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Brian’s memory to the St. Demetrius Parish Cemetery Fund in Holar (c/o Neil Syrota (306)328-4311).
