April 08,1960 - February 12, 2014
Bruce passed away peacefully at the age of 53 of complications from an illness of some months. He will be lovingly missed by his parents, Jack and Jean Fielder of Edmonton as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. We want to thank Bruce's close friends, Lawrence and Debbie Melis, for being there for Bruce over the years and especially during this trying time. Bruce loved life, he loved his work and he loved his cats. He had a voracious thirst for knowledge and was never without two or three books on the go of all genres such as Science fiction, history, current affairs. He graduated from the University of Alberta in 1981 with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering and was employed by the Cameco Corporation in northern Saskatchewan as Mill Metallurgist until 1992. Shortly after, he joined Mellis Engineering Ltd, a Metallurgical consulting company located in Saskatoon where he was Principal Processing Engineer until his untimely passing. Over the past 20 years he enjoyed working on numerous mining projects on locations in Canada and across the world. It is evident from the outpouring of messages of condolence that Bruce was highly respected and will be greatly missed by his colleagues and friends in the mining industry. A Memorial Service will be held in Edmonton, AB at a later date. In Bruce's memory, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. You may offer your condolences to the family at the Mourning Glory website. Arrangements in care of Cheryl Carlson, MOURNING GLORY FUNERAL SERVICES (306-978-5200) www.mourningglory.ca
