It is with great sadness that the family of Colleen Gail O'Connor announces her passing in her sleep on August 17, 2019. She was born and raised in Kelvington, SK to Nick and Mary Ternowetsky. She attended the University of Saskatchewan in 1968. After she completed her degree, she moved to Moose Jaw where she began her career as a primary school teacher. She began and ended her career at Palliser Heights. On December 28, 1974 Colleen married Sean. The birth of their daughter Siobhan in April 1979 enriched their lives. Colleen was a natural mom from day one. In 2001 and 2007 Colleen’s family was blessed with a granddaughter and grandson. She loved being a grandma, making sure we had meals, baking and anything else she thought was needed. Throughout her life she has loved the simple things: picking berries and mushrooms with her husband, the beauty of nature (especially at her cabin at Delaronde Lake), flowers, birds, baking, cooking, giving to others, beating people in scrabble, laughter and good jokes and friendship. Colleen has left to grieve her loving husband Sean, daughter Siobhan, son-in-law Joey Barteski, grandchildren Kaitlyn (17) and Logan (12), grand puppies Bailey and Jeff, her brother Kevin and many other relatives, both in Canada and Ireland. She was predeceased by her parents Mary and Nick Ternowetsky. The family would like to thank Dr. Truchan and Dr. Sander for their compassionate and loving care. In honor of Colleen we encourage you to do an act of kindness for a stranger. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church (114 Kingsmere Pl.) in Saskatoon. Arrangements in care of Aimé Laventure – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
