December 12, 1969 – March 26, 2026
On March 26, 2026, Craig Steven Mocknowed passed away unexpectedly at the age of 56.
Craig was born on December 12, 1969, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, to Gordon Mocknowed and Sandra Mocknowed (née Gristwood). He spent his entire life in Saskatoon and the surrounding area.
Craig was known for his strong work ethic. In the beginning he worked many years in the family construction business alongside his father and brother, starting at a young age. In 2010 he took on extra work to help out his brother-in-law and continued this for 13 years, waking up at 1:30am to get the job done before his regular 8:00-4:30 job. Over the past 20 years, he dedicated himself to maintenance and construction work in apartment rentals, taking pride in everything he did.
In 2000, Craig met his wife, Jill, while working as a courier in Prince Albert. They were married in 2002 and built a life centered around family, love, and laughter. Together, they raised three children: Maya, Jesse, and Carter.
Craig will be remembered for his big, warm smile and his remarkable ability to connect with others. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and made friends wherever he went. Always willing to lend a helping hand, Craig had a generous spirit and a kind heart.
He had a lifelong passion for vehicles and loved the thrill of buying, selling, and hunting for treasures at garage sale, online markets and at auctions. Craig also had a playful and mischievous side—he loved to tease, joke, and occasionally scare those around him. If he was bugging you, it was his special way of showing he cared. He had a gift for lifting people’s spirits and often made others laugh, even at his own expense.
Craig is lovingly remembered by his wife, Jill; his children, Maya, Jesse, and Carter; and his daughter, Taelar Bromberg. He is also survived by his siblings: Brian (Sherry), Peggy (Ryan), Pamela (Rick), Audrey, and Lisa (Tom), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and coworkers.
Craig was predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Sandra Mocknowed, and his brother-in-law, Brad Carey.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Acadia-McKague’s Funeral Chapel.
Craig’s kindness, humor, and unforgettable spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
