Doug passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at the age of 66. He was predeceased by his dad Hartley Thomas; sister Angie Cook; and mom Annechien. Leaving to mourn his loving daughter Tamara Jorgenson and her two sons; special friend Donna Jorgenson and her son Tony (Loresa) and their three children; siblings Ruby (Al) James, Preston (Colleen), and Bryce (Joan); brother-in-law Gary; and numerous nieces and nephews. Doug was born in Saskatoon and grew up in the King George area. He had many occupations throughout the years. Retail/Army & Navy, Restaurant Owner/Lucky Lake, Bingo Caller/Confederation Bingo, Cab Franchise Owner & Driver/Radio Cab. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and all around great man! He had SO many friends. Doug will forever be loved and remembered for his honesty, kindness and generosity. He was a man of few words but a true friend to many. His retirement was short but spent just the way he wanted. Enjoying Robin’s coffee, going for numerous drives around Saskatoon, trying his luck on Sport Select tickets and meeting up with his buddies. His grandsons couldn't have asked for a better grandpa, attending every sport, concert and special occasion. As per Doug’s request, there will be no funeral as he shall be cremated and a Family Committal will be held at a later date.
