Born July 27, 1930 - Passed May 25, 2015
Mom has gone to her eternal home. No more pain. Eleanor was born to Walter and Emma Ebbert in the Wingalow District, twenty miles west of Hanley. She was the youngest of six children. After her schooling, she helped on the farm before they moved to Saskatoon in 1949. She had many fond memories of things on the farm with her four sisters and one brother. One of her fondest memories was when the family gathered around the piano and sang old gospel songs. She played the piano, her Dad played the violin and a friend played the guitar. She worked at Marvins Dry-cleaning for a short time and then worked at City Hospital until she got married. She met her beloved husband Roger and they were married in 1955. They were blessed with two children Judie and Larry. They moved from Ave. K to Montgomery Place in 1960. They had a large yard and garden with lots of flowers and fruit trees. As a family, they had holidays in Canada and the U.S. In 1982, Dad and Mom moved to Parkridge, where they had a much smaller yard. After Dads passing in 1986, Mom remained in their home until she moved to her condo at St. Volodymyr in 1996, where she has enjoyed living very much. She attended Louise Street Community Church until her illness. Before that, they attended Westgate Alliance Church for many years. She was predeceased by her parents; her beloved husband Roger; her four sisters and brother; three sisters-in-law, and four brothers-in-law and two nephews. Surviving are her children Judie and Larry (Sandy); her grandchildren Ryan (Julie) Schappert, Christopher Schappert and Trevor Corbett; great-grandchildren Owen and Lily Schappert; her very special friend Peter Hrytsak and all his family; brother-in-law Barrie Rose and sister-in-law Eleanor Corbett in Ottawa; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends. Mom enjoyed all her family and friends coming in for coffee and a visit. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday May 30, 2015 at Louise Street Community Church of the Nazarene (3042 Louise St, Saskatoon). Rest in peace Mom. Love You. Arrangements in care of David Polzen - MOURNING GLORY FUNERAL SERVICES (306-978-5200)
