

Glen Wesley Neufeld was born on April 30, 1946 in Fort Francis, Ontario. He moved with his family at an early age to Laura, Saskatchewan and at 6 years old to Saskatoon where he attended Caswell Hill School and Bedford Road Collegiate. He started work at Co-op Dairies at the age of 17 and worked there his entire career of 47 years while it changed from Co-op to Dairyland to Saputo. He also worked at Sask Place as s bartender for many years.
Glen was an avid CB’er. He was a charter member of the SGRC and stayed a member for 52 years. He was a founder of the Western Canadian C.B. Jamboree which continued for 50 years. He was also a member of Pow City Community Cats, Saskatoon Snowmobile Club, Elks and Anavets.
Glen was a volunteer for many organizations. The Salvation Army on the Blitz as a bank courier and many years ringing bells especially mornings at Costco north and the ramp at Circle Centre Mall, Canadian Cancer Society Blitz as bank courier and relay run for life.
The Saskatchewan Abilities Council 24 hour relay, Snowgolf and Snowaroma. The Canadian Arthritis Society Jingle Bell Run, Shinerama for Cystic Fibrosis, Special Olympics Curling, Olympic Torch Run, Sask Winter Games, Saskatchewan Marathon and all Saskatoon Marathons and Triathlons, Jasper Banff Relay, Canada Truck Roadeo, Louis Riel Relay Race in Saskatoon and at Expo’86. Saskatchewan Air Shows in Saskatoon and Moose Jaw. The Saskatoon Police Halloween Patrol and searches for lost children.
Glen organized many family events, reunions with help from other family members. Penner picnics and monthly Penner Breakfasts and a bus trip for 37 family members to Swift Current to visit more family.
Glen was predeceased by his parents John and Mary Neufeld. He was the youngest of 11 siblings who have all passed on.
He is survived by his wife Linda, stepchildren David Schwab and Kelly Schwab, step grandchildren Abby and son Carson, Claire and Erica Schwab all of Calgary, Alberta. In-laws Ken Uthe, Jean and Cliff Schmidt and 6 sisters-in-law, Robyn Neufeld from Australia, Helen Neufeld, Wendy Neufeld and Glenda Uthe from BC, Lena Uthe from Alberta and Josie Uthe of Saskatoon.
He will be missed by many friends, Philip and Rose Bray, Daryl Gran, Fred Purdy, Doug Martin, Roy and Yvone Straker, Rick and Laura Penner, Sue Duret, Gilles Duret and Jeff Schaan and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Glen’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday May 31, 2024 at the Old Penner School (Highway 12 towards Martensville, turn right on Clarks Crossing Road, drive 2 ¼ miles to the school).
