

Gordon was born February 13, 1931 to Ora and Mamie Gibbons in Hanley, Saskatchewan. Dad passed away peacefully, at City Hospital in Saskatoon, with his family at his side on December 31, 2015, at age 84.
He is survived by his loving wife, Irma, of 55 years; his son, Greg of Chatham, ON; his son, Robert of Regina, SK; his daughter, Lisa Ashdown (James) of Hanley, SK. He will be greatly missed by his amazing grandchildren, Reid, Hannah, Evan and Jessica; his sister, Pauline Greene of Comox, B.C.; brother, Glenn (Margaret) of Saskatoon; brother-in-law, Ken Reeves of Moose Jaw, SK; sister-in-law, Marguerite Gibbens of Saskatoon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Armin (Edith) Krahn of Saskatoon, Garry (Glennis) Koop of Saskatoon; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by his parents; seven brothers and sisters, Mildred (Ted) Joseph, Jack (Hazel) Gibbens, Bill Gibbens, Kay Reeves, half-sisters Macil, Letha and Lucille of the U.S.A.; as well as his brother-in-law, Glenn Greene; several nieces and nephews; and his father and mother-in-law, Paul and Neta Koop.
Gordon was born and raised in the Hanley area. He took his schooling at Pearl Lake School east of Hanley. He farmed in the area and married Irma Koop of Dundurn in 1960. Gordon was a long time business man in Hanley owning and operating the Lucky Dollar and Red and White Grocery stores. In 1974, he took to full time farming in Hanley. In 1994, they retired from farming and moved to Saskatoon.
The Memorial Service will take place at Louise Avenue Congregational Church (1602 Louise Ave, Saskatoon) at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, with Pastor Gerald Cressman officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
The Gibbons family would like to thank the staff of RUH, Sherbrooke Centre and City Hospital for the outstanding care he received. A special thank you to a wonderful physician, Dr. Jutras for his care over the years.
