Gwen is predeceased by her husband Irwin Ratzlaff, sisters Margaret McCullum (Bert) and Edna Shambrook (Art), brothers Edgar Powell, Roy Powell (Joyce), Leonard Powell (Shirley), Dennis Powell, Wayne Powell, and brother-in-law Dale Barlow.
She is lovingly remembered by her sister Gwynneth Barlow, brothers Frank Powell (Lois), Glyn Powell, and Lloyd Powell (Linda), and her sister-in-law Judith Powell; her son Brent Ratzlaff (Patti), daughter Caron Ratzlaff, and her grandchildren Chelsea Guebert (Brian), Chad Ratzlaff (Amanda), and Jordan Ratzlaff. Gwen worked for many years as a school secretary in Saskatoon, where her friendly smile and caring nature touched countless lives. Outside of work, she was active in several social groups, including Grandmothers for Grandmothers, St. Martin's Church, and numerous ladies coffee groups. She was always surrounded by wonderful friends throughout her life whom she cherished deeply.
She loved visiting both the family farms and the coast, where she found peace and joy in time spent with loved ones. A dedicated family historian, Gwen poured her heart into creating and updating the Powell family tree book, preserving connections for future generations.
In her younger years, Gwen enjoyed traveling and exploring new places. More recently, she found great joy in playing cards: often with her granddaughter, and in her weekly games with her brothers and sister-in-law.
Gwen will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her devotion to family and friends, and her ability to bring people together. Her legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
