Helena Bartlett

March 20, 1927 – January 16, 2020

Helena passed away at Stensrud Lodge at the age of 92. Helena is lovingly remembered by her children, Belinda (Alex) Sawchyn, Barb (Peter) Kennedy, Paddy (Ken) Rea and Terry Bartlett and daughter-in-law Gail Bartlett; grandchildren Kerry Sawchyn, Terri Gerein-Kennedy, Mark (Celine) Kennedy, Jamie Rea (Larry), Kaci (Cody) Leys, Kelli (Alastair) Burnett, Shannon (Darren) Henry, Kelly Busler, Tandace and James Bartlett; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband James, son James Bartlett; grandson Kris Kennedy; parents Andrew and Annie Hopper; brothers Doug (Winnie) Hopper, twin brothers Cecil (Jane) and Tom (Ann) Hopper; sister Lillian (Jim) Milton, Sadie (John) McNally, and Ruby (Alex) McQuaker. Helena Hopper was born in Cookstown, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. She came to Canada with her family on board the R.M.S. Athenia. Helena worked at the Sheraton Cavalier for 30 years and was acknowledged for her excellent work. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and crafts. Some were entered into the Exhibition in Vancouver and won ribbons. She took pride in her work, and her yard, especially the flowers. She loved being around her family. Thank-you to all the staff at Stensrud Lodge for their loving care of Mom in her final months. Memorial donations may be made to Jubilee Residences (2602 Taylor St. E., Saskatoon, SK S7H 1X2).
