

Mom was born on the farm near Markinch, SK to parents Adolf and Pauline Bonkowski. In 1947 the family moved to Wapella, SK where Mom finished her schooling, and in 1956, she married Jack MacDonald. Tragically their two eldest children Warren and Debbie died in a car accident in 1961. Two years later their daughter Janice was born followed by Kathleen in 1964. In 1967 the family was transferred to Carlyle, SK for Jack’s job with Marathon Oil. Jack passed away in 1990 in Saskatoon and in 1996 Hilda married Bill Domes and they resided in Weyburn. The Domes family welcomed Mom with open arms, even after Bill’s passing, she was always included in many special occasions with them. She remained in Weyburn after Bill’s death in 2002 until 2014 when she moved to Saskatoon to be closer to her daughters and grandchildren.
Mom was a life member of the Ladies Legion Auxiliary. She also curled for many years. Her hobbies were sewing, quilting, knitting and all kinds of craft work.
Mom was predeceased by her son Warren and daughter Debbie, parents Adolf and Pauline, husband Jack and second husband Bill. Also predeceased by brothers Richard (Joyce), Max (Elsie), and Carl (Evelyn) and son-in-law Grant Nystrom.
Hilda is survived by daughter Janice Nystrom and grandchildren Wesley, Debra (Chris) and Michael (Jayme) and great-grandchildren Kailyn, Kinsley, and Kaibry. Daughter Kathleen (Darrell) Wagner and brother John Bonkowski. Also survived by stepson Jim Domes (Kathy), and his children Trinity (Tyler), Trustin (Effie), Cameron (Harmony) and Crisha (Jason) and great-grandchildren, Rachel, Brooke, Brian, Seth, Aaron, Gracelyn, Brinley, and Chloe, survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Internment at Wapella Cemetery will take place at a later date.
