Janet Augusta Lord

JUNE 19TH, 1933 – NOVEMBER 21ST, 2014

Our dear Janet passed away peacefully at Oliver Lodge Special Care Home in Saskatoon, SK, Canada on November 21st, 2014, at the age of 81. She was much loved and will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends in Canada, the U.S, the U.K and her original home country of Jamaica. Janet was born in the parish of St. Andrew in Jamaica. She was first and foremost a homemaker - the wonderful mother of three sons and an absolutely dedicated wife. Outside of her family her passions were gardening, animals and people -  she truly just loved people. Janet is survived by her husband of 62 years, David. C. Lord (now of Saskatoon); her two sons, Colin (Kit) of Plantation, Florida, Mark (Tanya) of Saskatoon; her five grandchildren, Christopher (Danielle), Matthew, Nicole, Jason and Stephanie; her brother-in-law, Michael Lord (Shirley); very special niece, Linda May Sunderland and her goddaughter, Ruth Scott; as well as many others. Janet was predeceased by her youngest son, David Allan "Bunny" Lord, who died at age 5 of Leukemia; her parents, Lillian and Colin Edwards; her three sisters, Phyllis (Hugh) Palliser, Marjorie (Arthur) Brown, Edimay (David) Smith and her sister-in-law, Helen (Skiss) Newell. Special thanks to the staff of Heritage Way at Oliver Lodge Special Care Home for all of their care, compassion and love over the course of the past two years. Mom's final years could not have been the same without all the special care she received there.
