Mom had a million dollar smile and would light up the room with it. She had a mind of her own. A force to be reckoned with. Always seemed to have a rag in her hand cleaning or polishing the stove at one time gassing and polishing the hardwoods on 22nd street. Mom brought 3 children into the world Pam, Randy and Greg. She loved us all I was the baby and Pam her princess was little. Mom would take us to the hairdressing shop where she worked. Loved to dance and won a jitterbug contest it was a Hudson Bay blanket. A fantastic cook her cabbage rolls with meat rice bacon and tomato sauce on top. Wow. Rice pudding. A swimmer would do laps at the pool in Mesa Arizona. Her husband Bill and her were there for many years after retirement. She would cook and entertain many guests for Bill’s birthday in February and other special occasions. She loved music Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elvis and Jonny Reid. Loved murder mysteries. Was an interior decorator and herself was a great house painter. A sharp dresser and was always well put together. She was a good listener this sounds too good to be true but it was and more. To all that knew and loved her she will be greatly missed. Her grandchildren Chad and Courtney, Cadence, Jacob and Owen Mertz of Saskatoon, Aaron Isbister and family of Prince Albert. Kendall Danforth and family and also Darcie Gutkowski and family of Calgary. Aunt Maggie Mertz and family of Saskatoon. Aunt Annie and Uncle Chuck. Cousins Cheryl Mawson and family. Merilyn Ridell and family and Margaret Henderson and family. Linda McDougall and family. To all that knew her and loved her we all have our memories, that is who we are. (Love is Patient and Kind…) Corinthians 13.4-0. Dad, Pam, Randy and Mickey till we meet up again keep smiling Mom. Love you big time. Special thank you to Saint Joseph’s Home. They gave mom dignity that her life still had meaning. To sister E. and all the other sisters for keeping mom warm fed and happy and if anyone was left out please forgive me. Thank you to all those people in making her final years good ones.
