Jeannine Childs

Late of Martensville, SK. Jean was born near Arborfield, SK in 1933 and passed away on August 29 at the age of 83 years. She dearly loved life and so bravely struggled to stay with us, but she could fight no more, and left this world to be with the Lord and her loving husband, Jim, who predeceased her in 2008. Jean was gifted with music and was a beautiful natural harmony singer, a wonderful addition to Heaven’s choir or perhaps the bluegrass band. She is survived by her 6 remaining children Ann Smith, Jay Childs, Cindy Shea (Chris), Ruby Kilfoyle (Sterling Sklapsky), Vivian Childs (Greg Lange) and Jimmy Childs (Loretta), daughter-in-law Susan Childs; her brothers Omer (Cheryl) and Lou (Carol) Soucy; sister-in-law Marguerite Soucy; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and 5 nephews and 1 niece. She was also predeceased by her son George in 2015; her brothers Richard and Paul; and her parents Leo and Yvonne Soucy. A Celebration of Jean’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on September 5 at St. Joseph’s Church (8th St. & Broadway) in Saskatoon.
