Mom was born and raised in the Henribourg district. Mom worked in Toronto before returning to Saskatchewan and marrying her husband of 59 years, Mel. She cherished being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She also ran Mel’s Confectionary with Dad, where she made countless friends and acquaintances. Mom was a woman of great faith and was active with various church committees. She proudly crochet and knit hundreds of prayer shawls and teddy bears, some of which found a home around the world.
She is loved and remembered by her three children, Donna (Paul) Kehrig, Helen (Pat) Laybolt and Wally (Kim) Matkowski, 7 grandchildren, Luke, Laura (Mario), Rose (Josh), Mark (Lydia), Janelle (Josh), Brent (Sureni), Bryan (Natasha), and 7 great grandchildren, Emelie, Tristien, Zoe, Jessica, Stephanie, Rose and Daniel.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church (Taylor Street and Munroe Avenue). Rite of Committal will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
