On January 9th, 1959, Regina Saskatchewan became the birthplace of an unforgettable woman. Karen was raised in Lintlaw Saskatchewan where she graduated with lifelong friends and countless stories to tell.
Karen enjoyed being outdoors with dirt under her fingernails, a fish on her hook, and rocks weighing down her sweater pockets. She is famously known for her garden, her homemade wine, and her canned pickles. She took pride in her garden and canning with her daughter, Michelle. Karen loved spending her summers at Blackstrap Lake with her husband, Jim, laughing passionately as friends and family went flying off of the tubes behind their boat. However, where Karen found the most peace was wherever and whenever Michelle and her grandson, Thomas, took her fishing. Karen was not only adventurous but also, forever a child at heart, as her and her granddaughter, Aidan, would spend hours examining every seashell, rock, or crystal they picked up. Karen loved indulging her imagination in the works of various authors and when she wasn’t reading stories in books, she was telling her own. Whether it be about her colleagues at work, her family, or her own memories; Karen loved stories and hers will be one never left silenced.
Karen is survived by her beloved husband of 22 years; Jim Rosher, her daughter; Michelle Gillis (Ryan “Fritz” Frischholz), her grandchildren; Aidan and Thomas Gillis, her mother; Florence Murrison, her older brother; Dean Murrison, step daughters; Raelynn Olstad, Cassie Dey and Chelsey Rosher and a multitude of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Karen is predeceased by her father; John Murrison.
Although her living journey has come to an end, this is not the conclusion of her story. Please join the family of Karen Rosher at Acadia McKague’s Funeral Home (915 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon) on Saturday April 6th, 2024 at 2:00pm for a celebration of life. There, we will continue to tell the story of Karen Ann Rosher and her undeniable impact on those who she crossed paths with on her journey.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to “The Garden Patch” (the Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre) so that her love for gardening may continue to nourish the community.
