Kenneth Willard Caron was born in Saskatoon to Joseph Caron and Flora Marie Trottier (Caron) on May 24. 1939. He spent the first 10 years of his life at the historic Métis community of Round Prairie and it is a place that has always held fond memories and a strong connection for Ken (Manny). He went to King George School and grew up in the Holiday Park neighborhood and it continued to be home for him until his passing. His first job in Saskatoon was delivering telegrams on his bicycle, even in the winter. The rest of his working career was spent in the optical business. At 22 he married Stella Wiebe and they were together for 62 years. Ken was predeceased by both his parents and his brothers Mick, Oliver and Lugar and his sisters Mary, Bertha, and Vicki, his twin sister. Ken is survived by his wife Stella, his children Angela, Dean (Cindy) and Wade (Jodie) and his grandchildren Matthew, Dylan and Rielle. Ken experienced heart failure in 1990 which eventually lead to a quadruple bypass a few years after. Doctors told him and the family that he would likely get a good ten years from that surgery. His strength and persistence were evident when it was thirty years later that his heart gave out for the last time on December 29, 2023. Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Christ Church Anglican (515 28th Street West, Saskatoon). The family invites you to join them following the service for desserts and coffee in the basement of the church. Ken’s ashes will be interred on January 6th in a private ceremony with his immediate family at the Columbarium at St. John’s Cathedral. In lieu of flowers it was Ken’s wishes that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Aimé Laventure.
