Lois Benneke, born February 17, 1973, passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving family at Royal University Hospital on August 17, 2018. Lois' memory lives on through her partner Darren Holoboff, her daughters Alexandra and Emily Welder and their father Chad (Tara), her son Daniel Messham and his father Patrick (Ivy), parents Gerald and Margaret Benneke, brother Bruce Benneke (Nicole) and niece Maddie Benneke. Lois grew up on a farm outside of Kamsack, SK, until she graduated from high school and moved to Yorkton, moving to Saskatoon shortly after. Lois had so much love for everything and everyone, and had many friends who turned into family. She spent time every summer camping on the west coast, among the mountains and the ocean, her happy place. This is a tradition her family plans to continue in her honour. Lois had a lot of love in her heart for her friends, her flowers and her pets, but there was nothing she loved more than Darren and her children. She was a mama bear who fiercely loved her cubs, but was not afraid to let them learn things the hard way. Lois touched the lives of many people, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was an active member of the Bahá’í Community. A Celebration of Lois’ Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Windsor Chapel (704 Windsor St.) in Saskatoon. All those who attend are asked to wear bright, happy colours in memory of a bright, happy woman. For those unable to attend, webcasting will be available at www.windsorchapelsaskatoon.ca. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation. Arrangements in care of Aimé Laventure – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
