Lorne Anthony Nyeste, age 46, of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 9, 2025, of natural causes.
Born on December 16, 1978, in Saskatoon to Ken and Bernice Nyeste, Lorne grew up in the Wildwood community, where he formed cherished friendships and lasting memories that shaped the man he became.
From a young age, Lorne had a passion for hockey and adventure. His travels took him to Australia, where he assisted with crocodile rescue efforts, and later to New Zealand, where he continued to broaden his horizons and build meaningful connections.
In his free time, Lorne loved watching sports with family and friends. A devoted Edmonton Oilers fan, he treasured attending NHL games—first in Winnipeg at age 12, and later in Edmonton as a teenager. Among his favorite traditions was playing hockey at Christmas with his nephews and brother-in-law, filling the rink with laughter and the joy of the season.
Lorne will be remembered for his humor, his kind spirit, and his appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.
He is survived by his parents, Ken and Bernice Nyeste; his sister, Vanessa McCann; brother-in-law, Justin McCann; and nephews, Kalman and Thomas McCann. He also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Lorne was predeceased by his grandparents, Gerhardt and Tina Menzel, and George and Magdeline Nyeste.
Service arrangements will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Diabetes Canada in Lorne’s memory.
The Nyeste family extends heartfelt gratitude to friends and loved ones for their kindness and support during this difficult time.
Lorne’s memory will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
