

On Saturday, April 19,2014 Marcella Kulig passed away peacefully at the age of 92. Marcella was born in 1921 in Krydor, SK and moved to Borden, SK after she married Roman Kulig in 1943. Borden was where she settle and the place she called home until moving to Saskatoon in 2011. Marcella was widowed at the age of 44, which she accepted and continued on independently as a strong, hardworking woman. Marcella was employed as the cook at the Borden Union Hospital for 38 years, retiring at age 70. She drove herself into Saskatoon weekly until the age of 85. Marcella lived by herself in Borden until she was 90 years old, where she took care of all the house and yard work. She loved Borden and showed her generosity with her time and commitment to the community and never refused anyone in need. Her door was always open, welcoming company for visits, laughter, and her abundance of homemade baking. Marcella took great pride in her knitting and enjoyed teaching the local women her craft. Marcella is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Leona Klath (Dennis) and their children, Audun Klath (Kim) - son Gunnar, Tyler Klath (Kelley) - their sons, Carson and Hayden, Taya Grueter (Curtis) - their children, Rayne, Trystin, Taryn and Joshua; son-in-law, Ken Marling - his children, Dwayne Marling (Pamela) & son, Dominic, and Shauna Marling. Marcella was predeceased by her husband, Roman in 1966 and her daughter, Bernice Marling in 2012. Her love for her family was endless and she will be dearly missed. Marcella's family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Dawne Pierce, Dr. Zane Tymchak, and the staff at Stensrud Lodge for their compassionate care. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at St. Paul's Co-Cathedral, 720 Spadina Crescent East, Saskatoon.
