Marija Maricic

January 6, 1925 - April 20, 2014

On Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014 Marija, our dear Mother, Grandmother "Nona" and Great-grandmother "Prenona" passed away peacefully at St. Paul's Hospital. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Vjera (Robert) Petrinic, three Granddaughters, Suzana (Slaven) Tustonic - their children, Maia, Luka and Noah, Emily (Mike) VanStone - their children, Tyler, Matthew and Adam, and Anne (Vern) Stefanyshyn - their children, Rayna, Kinley and Brielle; and all her family and friends. Marija was predeceased by husband, Joseph; parents Anton and Antonia Lovrecic; brother Viktor Dionisi and sister Dragica Ratkovic. Marija came to Canada from Croatia in 1989, after the passing of her husband, to live with her daughter and family. The past 25 years were spent enjoying valuable time with her family which grew to include 9 Grandchildren. There were many memorable moments that were shared. The Mass of Christian Burial  will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 25, 2014 at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, corner of Broadway Ave and 8th Street East, Saskatoon. Her family wishes to thank Dr. Spelay who has cared for Nona for the past couple of years, as well as Natalie, Matthew, Jessica and all the nursing staff at St. Paul's Hospital, and the Home Care staff that attended to Nona. The care and kindness that she received is greatly appreciated. In lieu of flowers, you may wish to make a donation to St. Paul's Hospital Foundation.
