Marjorie Rose Hrenyk, loving wife, mother and grandmother, went gently to her rest in the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 26, 2012, after a short battle with cancer. She lighted our world with her smile and love, and today we feel the darkness of her loss.
Marjorie is survived by her devoted husband Peter, three children: Beverly (Larry) Coates, Darryl (Tammy) Hrenyk, Kevin(Nicole) Hrenyk, six grandchildren: Ashley, Alyssa, and Jordyn Hrenyk, Ryan and Samuel Coates, and Darryl Hrenyk; one sister (Diane) and two brothers (Lloyd and Bill). She is mourned by extended family and countless friends. To know her was to love her.
Marjorie was born in Liption, Sk. on January 22, 1938. Her family moved to BC when she was very young and she grew up near Aldergrove, BC where her parents built a dairy farm. After completing her education, she lived and worked in Vancouver until she met, fell in love with, and married Peter Hrenyk on November 24, 1963. She and Peter moved to the Hrenyk family farm near Meath Park, Sk. where they farmed together and raised their children over the next 40 years. In July 2004 they moved to Saskatoon to be closer to some of their children and grandchildren. They made many new friends in the Arbor Green senior’s condominium where Marjorie lived until her passing.
Marjorie devoted her life to her family and friends and loved us well. She loved life and cherished time spent with family and friends, and particularly her grandchildren. Reading, quilting, crafting, baking and gardening were some favorite past times.
