Mel passed away peacefully at St. Ann’s Care Home on July 21 at the age of 78. He grew up and attended school in Englefeld, completing his education at St. Peter’s College in Muenster. His working years were with SGI in Regina. In 2007 Mel relocated to Saskatoon.
Mel is lovingly remembered by his sister Bev Vetter, his nephew Brad (Tracy) Cocks and their children Nicole, Ryan (Brittany) and Rachel, and his niece Laureea (Patrick) Kuprowski and their sons Taylor (Kate) and Dallon. Mel was predeceased by his parents Michael and Florentine Vetter, sisters Verle (Roy) Cocks and Lorraine (Stoney) LaBine, and his niece Judy Kenny.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mel will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 27th, 2022 at Holy Spirit Parish (114 Kingsmere Place, Saskatoon, SK) at 10:30 a.m.
The family expresses special thanks to the wonderful staff and caregivers at St. Ann’s for their loving care for their brother and uncle.
