Mervin Charles Anderson

Mervin Charles Anderson, aged 85, passed away on December 1, 2025. Mervin was born to Charles and Hilda Anderson on September 30, 1940, in the town of Perdue, Saskatchewan. He was the oldest of four siblings, a big brother to Merna, Bill (Val), and Robert (Brenda). He grew up on the family farm where he resided until October 2025, when he moved to the lodge in Biggar, Saskatchewan.

During his younger years, Mervin spent time breaking horses, plowing snow, farming, playing ball and hockey, hunting, and enjoying many adventures with friends. A pretty girl by the name of Faye Miller caught Mervin’s eye, and on June 19, 1965, they were married. They were blessed with Luella Lynn on November 21, 1968, and Warren Frank on January 29, 1971. They moved into their home on the farm in 1972.

Merv and Faye spent years traveling, laughing, farming, and raising their children together on the farm. They enjoyed laughing at the kitchen table with family and friends from far and wide, adventures to the lake, and many reunions, birthdays, parties, and gatherings in their yard. They were the proud owners of Anderson Porkland, where they made lasting friendships.

Mervin was a proud owner in Kenyon and Versailles fly-in fishing camps, which he took great pride in and where he met many friends from near and far. Mervin’s greatest joy was being with his family and grandchildren, teaching them to drive, hunt, and fish, and ensuring they returned home safe and sound from hunting trips, travelling to their sports, and cherishing every little moment in between. He loved country music, but don’t ask him to dance.

Mervin is survived by his wife, Faye; daughter, Luella; and son, Warren (Kori); seven grandchildren: Jenel (Danny), Krystal (Kurt), Brandon (Payton), Shae-Lynn (Kolten), Walker (Jayden), Dakota, and Santana (Kassen); and six great-grandchildren: Millie, Dahlia, Theo, Clementine, Gus, and Porter.

The family would like to thank the Biggar Lodge and Biggar Hospital staff for the amazing care they gave to Mervin. A family service will be held at a later date.
