It is with mixed emotions for the family of Mildred Leona MacConnel to announce her date of passing on October 12th in Saskatoon. Mildred was born on a farmstead near Renown SK. May 5, 1922. She was one of ten children to Avery and Sarah Reid. Mildred lived most of her life in the Watrous area. She met the love of her life, Donald E. MacConnel at a dance in the Highwood district, and got married October 15, 1943. Mildred was predeceased by her husband Donald MacConnel, survived by their loving children Donelda Donovan, Calvin (Donna) MacConnel, Eldon MacConnel, Heather Bratzer, Lorie Walker, nine grandkids and 13 great grandkids. Also survived by her sister Viola Olson of Watrous. Mildred was a life time member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and was a member of St. David’s Trinity United Church for numerous years. She was an avid traveler, loved to bowl, play cards, and do needle point. Her favorite pass time was spending time with her family, whom she loved to no end. Mildred gave unconditionally, never asked for anything in return, other than to love each other. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Acadia-McKague’s Funeral Centre located at 915 Acadia Drive, with Visitation at noon, and the service to follow at 1:00.
