With Sadness, the family of Myrtle Irene Erickson announce her death on January 2, 2022 having just turned 100 the month before. She leaves behind daughter Janis Mack (John), grandchildren Christy Mack & Solah Nightstar, younger daughter Lois (Rick) Wakeman, grandchildren Kailee Wakeman and Kent Wakeman (Hilary Hart). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Ever one to be in charge, Myrtle wrote her own obituary a number of years ago:
Living so long is not a song,
Believe me things go very wrong.
My brain is dead, what will I do,
Buy a new one that is new?
I guess I’ll buy a whole new body,
The one I have is looking shaddy.
It’s all worn out and so am I,
It’s time for me to say Goodbye.
