Nola was a woman of grace and compassion, whose laughter and warmth made every gathering brighter. She is survived by her two beloved daughters, whose lives have been forever shaped by her kindness and strength; her sons-in-law, whom she welcomed as her own; loving siblings; many friends; and her gaggle of granddaughters, who brought her laughter, pride, and purest happiness.
Nola also shared a deep and abiding love with her partner, Rick, her companion in every sense of the word. Together, they built a life filled with adventure and fun, often found on the water, rods in hand, side by side, in their shared love of fishing.
Nola dedicated herself to sharing, dealing art and celebrating beauty in all its forms, nurturing creativity in others. She was an accomplished gardener and had a proclivity for travel, with full appreciation for a good scotch and cigar. To know Nola was to know kindness. A conversation with Nola made you feel like you the only person in the room. She was gentle but strong, humble but extraordinary, quiet yet full of light. Her legacy lives on in every act of love she gave so freely and in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to call her family and friend.
Though she left us too soon, Nola faced her long illness with unwavering courage and grace and never complained. Eveni in her hardest moments, she met each day with warmth and patience, a testament to her unwavering spirit. Thank you to Nola's amazing circle of support at the Sherbrooke COmmunity Centre, and to the amazing staff who made her last few years so wonderful there. In lieu of flowers, please donate to MS Canada or the family's annual MS walk initiative.
