She trained to be a registered nurse at Providence Hospital in Moose Jaw where she met the love of her life, her journeyman carpenter husband, Art, on a blind date. After marrying, they settled in Saskatoon and provided a warm, loving home filled with many opportunities and adventures for their two daughters. Nora worked as an operating room nurse at St. Paul’s Hospital and later an administrative assistant for the Saskatoon Public School Division. She was kind, determined, outgoing, and fun with a great sense of humour. She was always eager to pitch in or try something new. She spent countless hours tending to her beautiful perennial garden and sitting on her back deck enjoying the company of others. Nora sewed, played the piano, curled, and did all sorts of handiwork. She was a community volunteer who was very generous with her time and boundless energy. She was a long time member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Her greatest love was her family. She was an exceptional wife, mother and grandmother. Nora was predeceased by her husband Art, of 39 years, in 2000. She is survived by her two daughters, Shelley (Greg) Ervin and their son Mitchell of Calgary, Sandra (Paul) Melnyk and their two sons Luke (Marley), and Ryan of Saskatoon. Her sister Merle Hetherington (d.
