With love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, the family of Olive Lillian Gage announces her peaceful passing at the age of 97. Known affectionally as Grandma, Grammy, Olivia, and Dear – Edgar’s personal favorite – Olive’s presence graced the lives of all who knew her.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Olive later made Saskatoon her home, where she and Edgar raised their family and spent most of their lives together. A devoted homemaker and loyal personal assistant to Edgar, she embodied kindness, class, and care in everything she did.
She will be deeply missed by her children Doug (Chona), Marilyn (Garth), and Carol, and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Tonille, Riley (Raegan), Kailyn (Scott), Troy (Kate), Alex (Mike), and Mischa (Tori) – along with her cherished great-grandchildren Mackenna, Charlie, Amelia, Theodore, Emmery, Miles, and Leddie.
A woman of grace and faith, Olive was a devoted churchgoer at Grace-Westminster United Church who cherished the outdoors, a perfectly matched outfit, her treasured knick-knacks, and a good cup of tea. She found joy in the simple moments and love in the people around her.
An intimate celebration of life will be held by her immediate family at a later date. Olive will be reunited with her beloved Edgar at The Columbarium at St. John's Cathedral in Saskatoon, where friends and family are welcome to visit and pay their respects.
