Peter Olexson

September 26, 1923 – May 14, 2014

Ethel passed away peacefully at 90 years of age at her Circle Drive Special Care Home residence in Saskatoon on May 14, 2014. She is predeceased by her father and mother Jacob and Jennie Tapanila, the father of her children Ronald Pennington; brothers Arvid, Reino (Selvi), Ernest, Edwin, Evert; sisters Aili (Hjalmer Juntunen), Ellen (John Voxland), and Elva (Kemila/Thompson); an infant son Barry; brother-in-law Arvin Juntunen and son-in-law Rick Lowe. Ethel is survived by six children: Jeanette McHugh, Bob Pennington, Connie McLaughlin, Sandra Pennington, Dale Pennington, and Valerie Lowe; her sister Violet Juntunen and her sister-in-law Martha Tapanila. She has nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, their spouses, and two great-great-grandchildren along with many special nieces and nephews. Ethel was an educator and taught for 31 years in various schools throughout Saskatchewan. After retirement, she moved to Elim Lodge, Saskatoon, for 21 years and attended Elim Church. She enjoyed many happy times with her special friends at Elim. She will be especially remembered for her strong faith and gentle, loving ways. Funeral Service will be from Acadia-McKague’s Funeral Centre (915 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon) on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 10:30 AM.
