Shauna Rose Ann Armstrong (nee Currie) born March 10, 1967, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2016, after a courageous year long battle with ovarian cancer. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by her loving family at St. Paul’s Hospital Palliative Care in Saskatoon. No one feels her loss more than her husband and soul mate Gary and her sister and best friend Donna (Garry) Briscoe. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings Doreen (Stan), Joyce (Lloyd), Glen (Steeb), Doug (Liz), and Linda (Gerald) Halvorson; Gary’s parents Clara and Frank; Gary’s siblings Wendy (John), Wanda (Patrick), Greg, and Garland (Kathy); as well as many extended family members and countless friends. Shauna was predeceased by her father Arthur (1995); and her mother Rose (2002). Shauna’s undying love for Gary, her “Twinnie” Donna, her pups Baxter and Milo, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, their camping spot at Willow Point, and her family and friends was evident to all who knew her. As evidenced by memories shared with her, her friends, and her family in the days leading to her passing, she had an enviable love of life, a passion for all things fun, and an endearing ability to always see the positive in everyone and everything. During her battle with this terrible disease, she did not complain, but would rather ask people why the long face or why tears would be shed. She wanted to fight to the end, and she did just that proving to everyone how big and strong her heart really was. She was a remarkable woman with an extraordinary power to bring people together. Forgive easily, love often, and cheer loud for the Riders in memory of Shauna. If you would like to graciously donate in her name, we ask that you do so to the Canadian Cancer Society or your local SPCA. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
