It is with great sadness that family of Sherri Dawn McDade announce her death on April 28th, 2022, at the young age of 58. Today we remember a daughter, a sister, a cousin, an aunt, a mother, a wife, grandmother, and a friend to many. Mom was born to Glen and Maryann McDade on June 11th, 1963, in Watrous Sk. She was the youngest of five children and grew up on the farm west of Simpson.
Mom enjoyed time spent with those she loved. Many memoires of Sunday dinners spent with friends and family. She was known for her great cooking, a talent she gleaned from Grandma. She also enjoyed fishing and hunting, taking a drive on the backroads, a cold beer with friends, as well as taking pictures of the prairie skies. (This photo on the card is one mom had taken), a good game of cards or scrabble, reading westerns, baking for her grandkids and sleepovers with Ben and Annie.
In early June of last year mom received the terrible diagnosis of end stage melanoma cancer that had metastasized to the jawbone. Despite the tragic news she never lost her courage to live despite her six-month prognosis. She gave it her all for her last ten months with us here and fought till the very end. She passed away peacefully in Imperial at the Long Lake Integrated Facility.
Mom was predeceased by her grandparents Jim and Helen Bears, Robert and Mary McDade, her mother MaryAnn McDade, her brother Ronnie McDade as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins and her best friend, Shelly.
She is survived by her father Glen McDade, sister Doreen Hawks (Dave), brothers Bryan McDade (Wendy) and Keith McDade (Dianne), husband Darcy Roney, daughters Logan and Emily as well as her four grandchildren Bentley, Annadel, Ava and Bronson whom she was very proud of. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews and friends.
While cancer has taken mom from us far too soon at the age of 58, cancer can not cripple love, cancer can not shatter hope, cancer can not kill friendships, cancer can not suppress memories, cancer can not destroy peace, cancer can not invade the soul, cancer can not conquer the spirit to eternal life.
When you remember mom, we hope you can see her smile, hear her laugh, and hold your best memories of her close to your heart.
