Tammy was born in Biggar, Saskatchewan, and spent most of her childhood in Saskatoon. She completed her primary schooling in Saskatoon and later graduated from SIAST, where she studied Autobody Technician and Accounting.
In 1986, Tammy met Jake Van Meessen, and together they began their family. They welcomed their first son, Deven, in July 1988, followed by their second son, Dayten, in August 1989. Ten years later, their youngest son, Daniel, was born in July 1999, completing their family.
Tammy worked at Mitchell’s Food and Allan’s Disposal for several years, in addition to various other small jobs throughout her life. She had a deep love for crafting and painting, and she took great joy in creating things with her hands. Above all, her grandchildren were her greatest source of pride and happiness—she loved them deeply and unconditionally.
Tammy also had a special place in her heart for her dog, Coco, who brought her endless comfort and companionship.
Tammy will be lovingly remembered by her companion, Orest Boychuk; her children:
• Deven, and his children Connor and Carter, and their mother Karla Nordquist; and Jayden and Paige with his partner Megan Litterick.
• Dayten (Kayla) and their children Hayden and Emily;
• Daniel and (Symone)
She will also be dearly missed by her best friend Corrine Pambrun (Blain Young), and many other family members and friends.
Tammy was predeceased by her parents: Robert (Bobbi) and Olive; her brother, Derek; and her stepfather, Donald Miller.
Tammy’s family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate doctors and nurses in the ICU at Royal University Hospital. Their warmth, kindness, and respectful care meant so much during this difficult time.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
