Thomas Greenwood

April 10, 1957 - March 24, 2017

The family of Thomas Greenwood are deeply saddened to announce his sudden passing on Friday, March 24, 2017 at the age of 59 years. Tom is survived by his loving wife Doreen; his children Courtney (Craig) Miettinen and Alana (Treyton) Wolfe; granddaughter Toni Miettinen; and his brothers, Robert Francis and family and Harold Taylor and family. Tom will also be lovingly remembered by numerous relatives and many friends. Tom was known for his love of life - he loved his family and friends and was always welcoming and entertaining to all. We all loved his elaborate costume ideas and the lengths he would go to make others laugh, his grand story telling ability, and his infectious and charismatic nature, especially when pulling out his spoons and putting on a little show to his favourite songs. Tom was an outdoorsy kind of guy who passed his love of fishing and being at the lake, on to his wife and daughters. He also found joy in hunting, golfing and riding his bike. One of Tom's greatest joys was the birth of his granddaughter Toni and we are very grateful for the time and the bond she shared with Papa Tom. Vigil of Prayer will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 4:00pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (114 Kingsmere pl) , Saskatoon, SK. A Celebration of Tom's life will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Danceland in Manitou Beach, SK with a viewing being held at 11:30am and a Service beginning at 1:00 pm followed by interment at Watrous Cemetery (for those so choosing, please bring spoons). The family invites you to return and join them in further celebration of Tom's life, beginning at 7:00pm at Danceland (511 Lake Ave, Watrous, SK S0K 4T0). This is an evening intended to share in happy memories and storytelling about Tom, an evening of music and being surrounded by close friends and family.
