Val was born in Melfort, SK on April 24, 1940 and passed away in Saskatoon on August 14, 2015. She was the eldest daughter of Ernest and Florence Fennell. Val graduated from St. Pauls Hospital as a Registered Nurse in 1961, and married Elmer Henderson that same year on August 12 and they had three children. Val is survived by her children and grandchildren, Mark (Linda) and their children Logan and Rachael, Barry (Dorry) and their daughter Brittany, and Karen and her daughters Shayla and Kaitie; two step-daughters, Shannon (Rob Shellenburg and children Sam, Hayley, Austin) and Chelsey (Keith Kuspira); two sisters Lynne (Allan) Johnson and their two children, Heather and Bruce, Kaye (Ernie) Schultz and their son, Tyrell. Val worked for years as a registered nurse retiring in 2000. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19th at the German Cultural Centre (160 Cartwright Ave, Saskatoon).
