Veronica "Verna" Twordik

October 9, 1922 – April 30, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother Verna Twordik.  Mom passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at St. Paul’s Hospital.  Mom was born and raised on a farm in the Viscount District when she married Dad she moved to Meacham where they farmed until 1952 then move to Saskatoon.  Mom loved her cards, bingo and bowling.  She belonged to CWL at St. Mary’s and was a long-time member at Fairfield Senior Club, which at times was her second home.  She also was involved with clubs at Villa Royal.  Mom is survived by six children:  Loretta (Arnold) Friesen, Rita Twordik, Sal (Shirley) Twordik, George (Cathy) Twordik, Lester (Myra) Twordik and Janet Maskwa; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Kokotailo; brother, Nick (Tina) Saretzky; brother-in-law, George Krawchuk; sister-in-law, Phylis Twordik; as well as several nieces, nephews and good friends.  Mom is predeceased by her husband George in 1990; her parents, John and Helen Saretzky; son-in-law, Terry Maskwa; granddaughter Bonnie Ditto; great-grandson Damon Pilon; two sisters, Margaret (John) Loroff and Bernice Krawchuk and three brothers, Alfred Saretzky, James (Elsie) Saretzky and one in infancy.  Due to the Covid Virus a Private Family Service will be held.  Mom will be laid to rest beside Dad in Woodlawn Catholic Cemetery.  Arrangements are in care of Ashley Knash – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
